How do I change my VPS root password?

To change your VPS root (or Windows Administrator) password:

Log in to the Unified Panel and open your VPS.
Under Server Information, find the Root Password row (Administrator Password on Windows).
Click the change password button next to it.
Enter a new password of at least 12 characters.
Click Change Password.

Use the show button on the same row to view the current password. If the panel can't apply the change right away, it tells you and applies it the next time the server boots.

Important: this changes the server's own password, not your Unified Panel login. Locked out completely? Use Recovery Mode from the VPS page.

Find your IP, SSH port (default 22) and root password under Server Information on your VPS page, then connect with ssh root@your-server-ip. Windows VPS use RDP.

When SSH is broken, the web console gives you direct keyboard access to the VM. Recovery Mode boots a rescue ISO so you can repair a server that will not boot.
